"Anti-Aging" IV drip kills patient - NAD+ infusion danger graphic featuring Dr. Kate Dee

She Got an NAD+ IV Drip and Died Within Minutes

September 18, 2026

That's how the story starts, and it's not an exaggeration. The man running the clinic, Luis Rojas Cabrera, claimed a naturopathic license from the Dominican Republic and a PA license from Puerto Rico.

Neither one let him practice medicine in New York. He had no license there at all, and he was running an IV bar anyway.

Why NAD Doesn't Work the Way You Think

"NAD is formed inside cells. The cell is needed inside the cell. Having NAD outside the cell doesn't help you." — Dr. Kate Dee, Med Spa Confidential

Here's what nobody selling these drips wants you to know. Your cells can't grab a whole NAD molecule out of an IV bag and pull it inside.

They need the raw materials first, things like NR and NMN, and they build the NAD themselves from there. So pumping whole NAD straight into a vein doesn't get you what you think it does. Anyone selling you an NAD drip either doesn't understand this or isn't telling you the truth.

I go deeper into the physiology during the episode.

The Supply Chain Problem

"The FDA has issued its most severe warning about NAD infusions because the supply chain is very poor." — Dr. Kate Dee, Med Spa Confidential

That warning is about contamination. Endotoxin and bacteria straight into your bloodstream, which is about as direct a path to harm as it gets. This isn't theoretical either. It's already killed someone.

Fast Isn't the Same as Effective

"You're gonna have much more significant symptoms the faster that infusion goes." — Dr. Kate Dee, Med Spa Confidential

A lot of clinics advertise thirty-minute NAD drips. That's a red flag on its own. NAD is so poorly tolerated that it's supposed to run over two to four hours, and speeding it up doesn't save you time, it just makes the flushing, the chest tightness, the racing heart worse.

If you've got an undiagnosed heart issue, that speed could be the thing that triggers it.

Before Your Next Appointment

If you've gotten an IV drip before, think back on what they told you to get you to say yes. Anti-aging, more energy, and DNA repair; now ask if any of that actually holds up against what you just read. This case ended in an arrest and a young woman's death, and it's not the only one.

Listen to the full episode of Med Spa Confidential to hear exactly why Dr. Kate Dee thinks nobody should be getting one of these drips, and what she wants every IV bar owner to reconsider before it's their name in handcuffs.
